SHARKS, RAYS AND other FISH.

The ocean is vast and beautiful. But also fragile. In our aquariums, you’ll explore the many environments and species that live in the water, from shallow eelgrass meadows to deep oceans. You’ll also learn how to take care of the ocean.

Dive below the surface

Get up close. Really close. No more than 27 centimetres separates you from the sharks.

Inne i hajtunneln står en familj och spanar på hajarna som simmar förbi.

Get below the water

The aquarium tunnel runs through our largest aquarium. There, you are surrounded by water.

Small and large aquariums full of exciting species.

Inne i Akvariehallen syns flera människor som tittar på fiskar och hajar som bor där.

THE OCEAN IS OUR LARGEST AQUARIUM.

1.4 million litres. That’s how much water Universeum’s largest aquarium, the Ocean, contains. As you enter the tunnel that runs through the aquarium, you can view the fish from below and get a sense of what it would be like to be in amongst them. Several sharks and rays live here. Plus a host of other small swimmers.

We live in the ocean zone.

Universeum's Ocean zone is an educational place teeming with life. Here are some of the animals that live below the surface.

SHARKS AND FISH IN SWEDISH WATERS.

Through the sixteen-metre-long and four-metre-high panoramic window, you can see sharks and fish that live in the sea off the Swedish west coast. The temperature in the North Sea section varies between eight and fifteen degrees depending on the season, as it should mimic nature.
