A WINDING JUNGLE ADVENTURE.
Wander, experience and discover. Here, the sloths rest among the colourful birds that fly freely through the treetops. Singing frogs, chirping birds and chattering monkeys can be heard over the roaring waterfall. It’s hot and humid. Welcome to the rainforest!
UNIVERSEUM’S CONSERVATION WORK.
A species that is not endangered today may be badly affected tomorrow. Our rainforest exists to increase people’s knowledge and create commitment to the conservation of biodiversity. We believe that you only understand how exciting and important nature is if you get to experience it up close and personal.
THE ANIMALS IN THE RAINFOREST.
Universeum’s rainforest is an educational place teeming with life. Many of the species here are endangered and are part of conservation programmes. Here are some of the animals that live in our rainforest.
Regnskog mitt i Göteborg – varför då?
AN ENDANGERED ECOSYSTEM.
The rainforest used to form a long, green, steaming belt that stretched right around the equator. That’s no longer the case. Over 160,000 square kilometres of rainforest are devastated and disappear every year. That’s about 37 football pitches per minute. Human soy plantations, palm oil plantations, dam construction and large-scale meat production have in no time completely destroyed an ecosystem that scientists believe has existed for 60 million years.
